Fowler Family Dentistry carries on the 50-year tradition of Dr. Ralph Querry, Dr. William Border and Dr. Heath Jones. Dr. Tim Downing continues their dental care in Fowler and their legacy of quality dentistry can be seen in their past, present and future patients.
Dr. Tim Downing grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina and received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Purdue University in 1990. Upon graduation Dr. Downing was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and designated a Naval Aviator. He served as a fighter pilot, flying F-14 Tomcats and F/A-18 Super Hornets, completing six combat deployments off aircraft carriers in support of operations in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. During his service, he earned a Masters in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle University and is a graduate of the United States Navy Test Pilot School. After 21 years on active duty, Dr. Downing retired as a Commander and graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) in 2015. He is the Chair of the Ivy Tech Dental Assisting program, President of the Western Central Dental Society, and Chair of the Benton County Board of Health. He has been married to Brenda, whom he met at Purdue, for 32 years and they have two children, Elizabeth and William. Outside the practice, he competes in marathons and Ironman triathlons, including the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in 2010. Dr. Downing likes to keep the atmosphere light so patients feel at ease in the dental chair.
Martha grew up on a dairy farm in Quinter, KS. She has four older siblings, two brothers and two sisters. She also has 19 nieces and nephews, who manage to keep her young at heart. Martha rarely turns down an opportunity to learn or try something new. She enjoys gardening, hiking, reading and traveling.
Martha moved to Lafayette, IN in 1998. She graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in 2009 with a Technical Certificate in Dental Assisting and later an Associate Degree in Dental Assisting. She also completed certification for Expanded Function Dental Assisting. She has enjoyed assisting in general practice dentistry in Lafayette for twelve years, as well as being adjunct faculty for the Ivy Tech Dental Assisting Program. Martha graduated from Ivy Tech, South Bend in 2021 with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. She is excited to be part of the team at Fowler Family Dentistry.
Amber grew up in Benton County and attended Fowler Elementary and Benton Central High School. She has been a certified dental assistant with expanded functions for 16 years. She has been instructor for the Ivy Tech Dental Assisting program for 3 years. Amber is married with three children and has a granddaughter. She absolutely loves her career and enjoys spending time with family and riding her Harley.
Brittani grew up in Muncie, Illinois and graduated from Attica High School. She has three children; Braxton (6), Ella (4) and Addison (6 months). When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Shelbie grew up in Newton County, Indiana and attended South Newton High School (Class of 2015). She graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette, IN (Class of 2019) with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Dental Assisting and a Technical Certificate in Dental Assisting. She also has her Radiology License, Coronal Polishing Certificate, Fluoride Application Certificate, and her Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Certificate.
Shelbie married her husband Blake Anderson on Oct 30 2021. They have two cats, Ouija and Salem, and a dog named Smokey. She loves spending time with her family and going to concerts.
RaeAnn Nethercutt is a 2006 Graduate of the dental hygiene program at Mott Community College in Michigan. For the past 16 years, as a practicing clinical hygienist, her focus has been general dentistry. In addition to practicing clinical hygiene, she also pursued her passion of teaching continuing education for dental professionals. She currently teaches Ethics, OSHA and HIPAA Compliance and is an AHA Certified CPR Instructor. She enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her two children.
